The XII AERNA Conference was successfully held at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, Spain, on September 3–4, 2026.

The 2026 AERNA Awards recognized Elisa Grugni for Best Presentation by a Young Scholar, and Francisco J. André, Carmen Arguedas, and Sandra Rousseau for the Best Published Paper in Environmental and Resource Economics (2024–2025). An Honourable Mention was awarded to Alejandro Caparrós, Esther Blanco, and Michael Finus. (more info)

The Spanish-Portuguese Association of Natural and Environmental Resource Economics (AERNA) is an international scientific organization, with membership open to all persons involved in this field of economics. The main aims of AERNA are:

To contribute to the development and application of environmental, climate and resource economics.

To encourage and improve collaboration and communication among scholars, researchers, policymakers, students in environmental, climate and resource economics on Portugal and Spain.

To develop and encourage the cooperation across between universities and research institutions in Portugal and Spain.
