The 11th AERNA Conference took place in NOVA School of Business and Economics, Lisbon, 4-6 Sept 2024.

The winners of the First edition of the AERNA Awards for the best  PhD Thesis and best Master Thesis in the field of Environmental and Resource Economics (years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022) are Francesca Tomori (Universitat Rovira i Virgili) and Tobias Albrecht (Universitat de Barcelona) (More information).

The winner of the Best Presentation by a Young Scholar at the 11th AERNA Conference was «Assessing the Costs and Benefits of the Iberian Exception in Electricity Market Design: An Agent-Based Approach» by Luisa Nobre, from NOVA School of Business and Economics, and the Best Publication in the Field of Environmental and Resource Economics by AERNA Members (years 2022 and 2023) was «Pricing carbon in the aviation sector: Evidence from the European emissions trading system” Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, 2022, by Xavier Fageda and Jordi J. The Spanish-Portuguese Association of Natural and Environmental Resource Economics (AERNA) is an international scientific organization, with membership open to all persons involved in this field of economics. The main aims of AERNA are:

To contribute to the development and application of environmental, climate and resource economics.

To encourage and improve collaboration and communication among scholars, researchers, policymakers, students in environmental, climate and resource economics on Portugal and Spain.

To develop and encourage the cooperation across between universities and research institutions in Portugal and Spain.
